How to Install AAAD

The easiest way to install Screen2Auto and other third-party apps on Android Auto.

AAAD Installation Guide

Android Auto Apps Downloader (AAAD) is a small, open-source helper utility that allows you to download and install custom third-party apps that are restricted on the Google Play Store for Android Auto.

The AAAD + Screen2Auto Connection: Screen2Auto cannot be downloaded directly because Google restricts custom screen-mirroring apps on Android Auto. By installing AAAD, you create a trusted installer gateway. When you sideload Screen2Auto through AAAD, it signs the package automatically so that Android Auto will recognize and run it on your car dashboard, without requiring root access.

AAAD & Screen2Auto FAQ

Why is Screen2Auto not working after installing via AAAD?

If the app doesn't show up in your car screen, it is usually because Unknown Sources is disabled in your Android Auto settings. You must enable Developer Settings in Android Auto and check "Unknown Sources" to authorize apps sideloaded by AAAD.

Does AAAD require root access to install Screen2Auto?

No, AAAD does not require your phone to be rooted. It utilizes developer-mode flags to package and install the applications locally in a format that Android Auto registers as valid.

How many free downloads do I get in AAAD?

The free version of AAAD offers 1 free app download per month. If you need to install multiple apps or update them frequently, you can buy the PRO version from the developer for a small one-time fee to unlock unlimited downloads.

Is AAAD safe to download?

AAAD is open-source and widely audited by the car enthusiast community. However, since it is not hosted on Google Play, your browser or Google Play Protect will flag it as an "unknown source." Sideloading this APK is safe as long as you download it from the official github repository or verified links on this site.
